Buckwheat
Buckwheat is considered by many to be a superfood, which has been cultivated in Europe for over 600 years.
Buckwheat is a good source of protein, fibre and energy. Contrary to what the name might suggest, it isn’t actually a wheat, but rather more belongs to the family of knotweed.
It´s gluten-free, therefore it is an excellent dietary alternative for people with celiac disease or gluten intolerances.
Spermidine
Spermidine has been the subject of intensive research for around 40 years.
The Bruneck study, a prospective community-based study, used a random sample of 1,000 men and women. It was based on long-term follow-up exceeding a quarter of a century (1990-2018) with an extraordinary participation rate of 93.4%, and found:
- an additional intake of 3 mg of spermidine per day increases life expectancy by 5.7 years
- spermidine-rich diets are preventive against cardiovascular disease and reduce the risk of cardiac death in humans
- Spermidine intake reduces cardiovascular pathologies, including hypertension and cardiac dysfunction associated with heart failure.
